Emergency

Sabato, 17 aprile 2010, appuntamento alle ore 14:30 in Piazza San Giovanni a Roma per partecipare alla manifestazione, per chiedere la liberazione dei nuove operatori di emergency arrestati, tra cui tre italiani: Marco Garatti, Matteo dell’Aira e Matteo Pagani Guazzugli Bonaiuti.

Emergency è indipendente e neutrale. Dal 1999 a oggi EMERGENCY ha curato gratuitamente oltre 2.500.000 cittadini afgani e costruito tre ospedali, un centro di maternità e una rete di 28 posti di primo soccorso.

EMERGENCY is an independent and neutral organisation. Since 1999, EMERGENCY in Afghanistan has provided medical assistance free-of-charge to over 2,500,000 Afghan citizens, by establishing three surgical hospitals, a maternity centre and a network of 28 first aid posts.

Matteo ha un solido interesse umanitario. È senza alcuna convinzione politica, se non quella della solidarietà. È un ragazzo che non ha mai svolto attività politica né avuto alcuna tessera di partito. Ha lavorato per diverse organizzazioni (è anche in attesa di partire con Medici senza frontiere) ed in diversi paesi in tutto il mondo, anche gratuitamente. «Tutto ciò – dicono i genitori di Matteo – ci preoccupa e addolora immensamente. Ci auguriamo che la politica non stravolga quella che è la funzione che nostro figlio Matteo è andato a svolgere. Confidiamo che la verità sul suo conto emerga con immediata chiarezza e che Matteo possa essere rilasciato, con i suoi colleghi, quanto prima». A testimonianza della «seria» attività umanitaria di Pagani si è espresso anche il Gus (Gruppo umana solidarietà) per il quale ha lavorato fino all’anno scorso. Un’altra ottantina di colleghi di Matteo ha lanciato un appello per la sua immediata liberazione.

Matteo hat eine großes humanitäres Interesse. Er ist ohne jegliche politische Überzeugung, ihn interessiert nur die Solidarität. Er hat weder politische Aktivität betrieben, noch gehörte er zu einer politischen Partei. Er hat für verschiedene Organisationen gearbeitet (wartet zur Zeit auf einen Einsatz bei „Ärzte ohne Grenzen“ ) in mehreren Ländern auf der ganzen Welt, sogar kostenlos. „Durch all das“, sagen die Eltern von Matteo, „sind wir besorgt und sehr traurig. Wir hoffen, dass die Politik nicht das zerstört, was unser Sohn Matteo aufzubauen versucht. Wir vertrauen darauf, dass die Wahrheit über ihn mit sofortiger Klarheit herauskommt und Matthew mit seinen Kollegen schnellstmöglich entlassen werden kann.“ Als Beleg für „seriöse“ humanitäre Arbeit des Pagani hat sich auch die Gruppe GUS ausgedrückt (Gruppo umana solidarietà), für die er bis zum vergangenen Jahr arbeitete. Weitere achtzig Kollegen von Matteo haben seine sofortige Freilassung gefordert.

Matteo has a strong humanitarian interest. He is without any political conviction, interested only in solidarity. He has never done any political activity nor worked with any political party. He worked for various organizations in several countries around the world, even for free (and is also waiting to leave with the organization “Doctors Without Borders”). “We are deeply concerned and very sad about all this,” say the parents of Matteo. “We hope that politics do not upset the function our son Matteo went to play. We trust that the truth about him emerges with instant clarity and that Matteo and his colleagues will be released as soon as possible.” As evidence of his “serious” humanitarian work has also been expressed by the group GUS (Human Solidarity Group), for which he worked until last year. Eighty colleagues from Matteo have called for his immediate release.
